Tracing Identity is a project curated by Evelina Bazzo, developed by De Castelli and presented by the company at the Salone del Mobile 2017.
The project involved a group of 7 designers with great interpretative skills, characterized by an emotional, empathic and narrative language: Alessandra Baldereschi, Nathalie Dewez, Constance Guisset, Francesca Lanzavecchia, Donata Paruccini, Elena Salmistraro and Nika Zupanc were invited to design complements of furniture with a decisive expressive and volumetric protagonism. The seven projects, each different, are each a personal interpretation of steel, copper, brass and iron.
Alessandra Baldereschi for Tracing Identity draws Painting Collection:
A large screen designed as a theatrical backdrop representing on each side imaginary landscapes like a night sky and a hilly profile. The chromatic possibilities of the materials are enhanced by using metal plates like colors on a canvas: the result is a painting with metal that becomes scenography. Polished steel to mirror itself in the clouds, pink copper and gold for the hills at sunset, copper green like water, the night is black plate. The screen is composed of three tilting doors that allow different configurations to repair private areas or divide interior spaces, creating a corner protected by a fantastic landscape.
